It's normal for the first while... Day 3, finally feeling the bad side effects pretty hard. Haven't spent this long on the verge of puking in quite some time. Hopefully it doesn't get worse and symptoms go away in the next week. SSRIs are a bitch

That's awesome you found a working solution right away! I finally got to see a psychiatrist and he thinks this will help. I'm on sertraline 25mg right now, to be upped to 50 at week 3. Doctor follow up on week 6. This isn't my first SSRI but I have been off of them for a bit more than a year and this is a new one. Going off is much worse than going on, and going on still sucks... right now not feeling physically well. --- Never write off the Doctor! ... Copied to Clipboard!

That is the worst, feels like your head is being zapped every time you turn your head. ugh definitely. that was like me at the end of 2016, i had forgotten more days than not and effectively weaned myself off of medication. Probably should have stayed on something because 2017 was not a good year at all. fuck those zaps :( I noticed stopping meds brought out OCD symptoms like having to re-check locks, stoves, alarms, doors, etc. and never feeling confident about it. Which made it worse! Ugh. Muscles posted... Hopefully you feel better soon Thanks Muscles --- Never write off the Doctor! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Might not be the right one for you, theyre funny that way I'm really sensitive to medications/substances in general. This is more tolerable than the others I've tried. Other ones have given me ringing ears and vertigo. Only nausea and fatigue are a step up. Just forgot how much it sucks. Going to force myself to eat. That should help. If it's still bad by week 2 or worse side effects develop I'll call the doctor. How did or has your medication work(ed) out for you? --- Never write off the Doctor! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Medication changes are a b****, but sometimes they are for the better. I stayed on Ziprasidone for years because I was afraid to go off it. Luckily (but not really) I had a bad episode and gained 70lbs in 3 months and decided to try changing. Ended up realizing a lot of my problems were actually due to the medication, such as not being able to wake up in the morning. Still haven't lost the weight though.
Its also crazy holding those pills in your hands and realizing how little it takes to completely change you mentally. Do you take any vitamin D? --- Metroids Suck ... Copied to Clipboard!

Weight gain is a real issue. I had that problem with citalopram. It was more gradual but I put on so much weight. Hasn't really come off after discontinuation. The wrong medications are very scary. And it's such a gamble. It's not just those pills. It's how sensitive the brain is to any changes in chemistry. Some things mere micrograms in your body will blow your mind. But it helps keep in perspective that yes, brains are very susceptible to alerted states. Due to diet I take B12 and D3 weekly. I've missed a couple D3 doses after they ran out. So I'm gonna grab some after work tomorrow. Good call on that --- Never write off the Doctor! ... Copied to Clipboard!

My worst medication problem was recent... I was on a pill that the doctor didn't tell me was a dopamine blocker. All the life and soul went out of me and I just wanted to sleep or be dead. For months. Turns out it's hard to be happy without dopamine!

I don't take any medication for my depression and anxiety. Neither do I but I probably should. I guess the worry of the side effects and possibly being addicted to them puts me off. I constantly have anxiety symptoms though. Right now for example I feel very light headed and have blurred vision.
