I've had a lot of fun with Splatoon 2, one of the two games I own for switch (3 if you count an Indi game)

I wouldn't 100% say it's a must play, but if you like competitive shooters it offers a really cool take on it.

I heard that Mario X Rabbids was actually a really good XCom clone.

Every single time topics like these get made, regardless of console, it's a shitshow. What's the point, TC? There are plenty of games for the Switch, whether or not they are "MUST PLAY" is entirely subjective. Not to mention these topics are never genuine curiosity, they're always these false-flagging excuses to bash something you don't like.

People will list games, other people will say why some of them don't count for whatever arbitrary reason. That one's not exclusive, that's for kids, that one's shit, etc.

There's no point to this, ever.

Wow yall are negative and ignorant as hell. Theres a ton of indies and more coming all of the time. Theres Zelda, Mario, Splatoon (which is fun not just for 12 year olds, but theres no killing so I guess for you thats a dealbreaker), Mario Kart, Mario and Rabbids, Skyrim (which for some is just a port but its a very good port and totally portable), and theres lots of games coming soon that Im excited for, too, such as:
Bayonetta 1&2 (eventually 3)
Donkey Kong
Dark Souls

But no, Im just a drone and a port-shill even tho I also love my ps4 and the last Nintendo console I had before the Switch was a GameCube (excluding handhelds).

Yall need to get over yourselves and realize that just because something isnt for you, it doesnt mean that for everyone else.

This is the thing, TC. Even if they don't have five now, I know they'll have five eventually. When you buy a Nintendo product, you're basically guaranteeing yourself a half dozen or more "system seller" first party titles that will just work perfectly out of the gate.

Nintendo will never have the most games, but you know exactly what you're going to get. If you like those games, or those genres, it's a sensible purchase. If you don't, then you're going to be confused as to why people who keep buying Nintendo products don't seem to give a shit that they're not getting the yearly CoD/AssCreed/Battlefield/etc FPS grind treadmill that the other consoles get.

I couldn't get into Xenoblade 1, would I dislike 2? I didn't like the MMO-with-no-players vibe it had. It was less of an adventure and more of wandering through emptiness, fighting the same reskinned enemies.

That's not my intent, though. I love the Wii U and Switch and will never go back to TV+console.

I want to justify buying a Switch but I'm having a hard time finding good games -- not because of a lack of good games, but because there's not many good SWITCH games. Hollow Knight never comes up because it's a downloadable indie game, but that's a definite buy for me. I want some more ideas of games I missed. Apparenly Darkest Dungeon is good too?
