She's from Hawick, one of these small insular little towns in the borders that had somehow remained largely unchanged for centuries.

She says everything so strangely. For examples, "glasses" is pronounced "glay-sees". "Do" as in "do something" is "dae", so "gonnae dae it". But added confusion because "dae ken" also means "don't think so
".

Long story short she could say a sentence like "ah had a pure barry taem doon spoons las sa'day, but ah dae keen weir mah glaysees fae seen to" and it would mean "I had a great time at the pub last Saturday but I lost my glasses and I've no idea where they've gone".

Also she's a senior accountant.

As a Glaswegian, Edinburgh speak is like a different language to me. Ditto for how people speak up north, in the east generally, and probably down in the borders too.
