Its worth watching for Daniel Day-Lewis performance alone. Its also noteworthy for Leonardo DiCaprio attempting to do an Irish accent and failing miserably.

Day Lewis and DiCaprio are really good. Plot is kind of forgettable. At least is pretty interesting due to the time period theyre tackling, which seems to be largely ignored in cinema. It is eye opening how racist some (or a lot of) northerners were during the Civil War era, for example.
