You can kind of see her point. People are willing to dump hundreds of dollars into the latest dumbass kickstarter project (an Atari that cooks waffles! Ill back that!) But fuck trying to actually help another person in need. I know she comes off as self entitled but there is something to her message.

This might seem selfish but I simply cannot recommend people to donate to strangers on the internet because of a sob story.

Fundraiser in a local community? Sure. But don't donate money because you read a blog post or because you saw a YouTube video. These stories often don't turn out well or aren't what they seem.

GoFundMe was likely started out for legit, charitable causes and started out as such. But then when people saw that they could get money from strangers online by essentially begging for it (a sob story and/or a cute face helps), all hell broke loose.

The difference being backing a kickstarter provides value to you and leasts get the kickstarter person work that they must do and make an effort. This girl is not much different from a homeless person that asks for free money without wanting to put some effort in it, so if you offer them a jobs like clean my patio and I'll give you some bucks they will refuse because their feel entitled of getting free money.

This makes me irrationally angry. I was like eh normal young entitled bs until she was like "my mom has multiple sclerosis." I have ms and I work. My wife and I paid for our own wedding and are balancing paying my medical bills and saving for a house. There is nothing wrong with this person other than she is lazy as fuck.

That's as expensive as NYU down the block.

But if she really wants some free college and in Manhattan, it's extremely easy because this shit state gives out free college now and CUNY Baruch is on the list. It's also down the block along with FIT. She can still get the same experience lol.
