Believe it or not, there was a time where the only way to get help on a game was from a friend or, if youre in luck, in a magazine or on a telephone hotline.

As it was, there were often times where....you simply didnt beat a game because you just couldnt figure it out. List those games and scenarios here!

- Another World/Out of This World
My friend and I couldnt figure out near the end that you had to sit and let the enemy throw those moving grenades. Eventually they blow open a hole in the floor off screen.

- Lemmings
Multiple levels.

- Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Gameboy)
Still dont know wtf to do and never bothered looking back to see.

My first play through of Super Metroid was without help and it took 20 hours (I was only 8 years old, go easy on me). Got stuck several times but eventually figured it out on my own. That's OK though, it was a fun game to get stuck on.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age is the game that brought me to this website. As it turned out, the problem I had was that the viewpoint "hid" the path I had to take in an early dungeon.

Pretty much all the Sierra adventure games. I mainly would play Hero's Quest (later renamed Quest for Glory) and would walk around but never know what the hell to actually do.

Lemmings higher levels for sure and I couldn't figure out how to hurt the final boss in Who Framed Roger Rabbit on NES (I think it was.) Too weird you named those. I got stuck in Myst as well and since my friends all hated that genre of game, none of them could/would help. I never finished Myst. There are tons more flooding my brain now. Great. Later I'm going to be dreaming about Escape From Monster Manor.

On higher Lemmings levels I feel like a lot of them I win by cheesing the game mechanics of that makes sense. Like I won not the intended way.

Myst was one too. It was the rocket piano puzzle that got me (I suck at music puzzles)

Startropics: the letter you needed for the password to get through one chapter never came with the rental.

Might and Magic 3: even with the internet I still don't get the solutions to a few of the puzzles.

Lemmings: yeah, that got rough.

King's Quest 6. I got to the underworld and couldn't solve Cerberus' riddle (you had to type it in.) I actually called into their hint line to get the answer.

Near the beginning of the game you find a scrap of paper in a spider web that says "love," and then it blows away, so you don't keep it. Turns out that was the answer for the riddle way later in the game lol.

I still have yet to beat that game. There's too many paths in the game and too many points of no return where you're completely fucked if you missed an item from earlier.

I cant remember this was the early 90s. once we had codes to every room found a few other rooms that just got us stuck as well so whatever the original one was I don't recall.

Tales of Destiny. There was this password you needed near the end of the game and I had no idea how to get it

Came in to post this. I found out much later that there was a translation error in the game so that there was no logical way to figure out FATE. My dad have me permission to call the hotline when I went to him for help and he was stumped too.

I only remember brute forcing the combinatuon puzzle and getting lucky in the trolley puzzle. Riven, though, can go fuck itself.
