EA acquires other companies, crashes them, dissolves their assets

MS acquires EA... Will EA cannibalize it from the inside? Or will it get EA'd?

Microsoft needs to do something to differentiate itself better. This generation's exclusives are piss poor, it loses the hardware battle squarely to the PC, it doesn't have the IP/mobile markets that Nintendo does, and it doesn't have the type of niche exclusives that the PS4 does.

I'm not personally a fan of the Japanese PS4 titles, but at least those are differentiators. Literally the best two Xbox games last year were poor man's versions of PC games.

I mean, this is the way it always was for Xbox.
360 didn't get a huge push because it had better exclusives, but because it was considered the better console for third party aka games that came out on 360 and PS3.

And that was because it was harder to code for PS3 at first.
Also, people apparently enjoyed paying for online saying it worked better than free online.

Halo 3, Gears of War and Mass Effect were huge games and came out in the first two years of the 360's life. It also got games like BioShock and Oblivion first. While the 360 probably would have beat the $599 PS3 anyway these games most certainly helped them.

This. Halo, Gears, and Mass Effect were big draws on the 360 at a time when the PS3 was meme'd into "but the ps3 has no gaem" oblivion. It had little to do with it being a better console for third party games and more to do with the PS3 having nothing to directly compete against the few exclusives that MS did have at the time.

I'm hardly a casual jock. I straight up play sports when ever I can. That doesn't make me any less of a gamer because I play video games very much too.

Exactly. You play sports games, and you play real sports. You're not a gamer, you're a jock

I also play RPGs, MOBAs, RTSs, and a plethora of other genres. You make it sound like people can only have one interest.

Why would you lie like this?

You can't be both a cool kid and a jock. It doesn't work that way

Ok.

I have a feeling MS would leave certain franchises multi plat, but shift certain devs toward making exclusives.

I don't think they really have a choice. If I remember correctly, both the NFL and FIFA contracts dictate multi-platform releases.

What would this mean for EA's exclusivity deal on Star Wars games? I imagine that would break their contract.

I'd imagine that MS would allow the Star Wars games to be multi-plat, kind of like what they do with Minecraft.
