Undertale winning was kind of like the Trump election. A bunch of trolls started supporting it as a joke, and then it avalanched after enough people with horrendous taste deluded themselves into thinking it was a quality choice.

I just didn't like it won best game of all time when it had just come out. people voted that it was literally the best game in all of history, better than endless lists of classic games. I supported Monika because it was just the "best game girl of 2017". but this was "best game in earth history" and I don't buy that the greatest game of all time would be one that had just happened to have just come out.

It's amazing how salty people get when an indie game wins a poll or award.

there was a contest held on this site to determine the greatest game in history. Undertale won round after round and made it to the final round and won. people were pretty annoyed because it ruined alot of brackets and it was also clearly not true. I've never played Undertale but it doesn't look that amazing and at the time of the contest I think it had only been out a few months. not even half a year. and people were acting like it was better than Mario, Sonic, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Xcom, Civilization, pacman etc etc etc

somehow Undertale beats them all in these people's minds

The reason people get salty is because they had a chance of winning the prize....also always remember that the only reason it won was because said voters were already salty because FF7 or OoT would win. How salty do you have to be in order to get help for a indie game to win? Calling others salty just makes them hypocrites since they were salty first.

Nobody ever treats these contests as objective polls. It's always something decided by fans. This is why Zelda and Final Fantasy win on GameFAQ's the majority of the time.

So, yeah. Undertale fanboys love to rewrite history when it comes to this. Nobody was "crying" that Undertale was winning. What happened was Undertale came out, and some CEman were hating on it. The the tournament happened, and Undertale fanboys used the vote stuffing to say "we told you this game was one of the best games of all time!!!". When people started to point out Undertale was only winning because other sites were invading the polls, the Undertale fanboys would say shit like "stop crying! it only proves that Undertale is the best game! if people really though *insert game here* was better, why arent people on those subreddits voting in the GameFAQs poll?!?!?"
