Youre conflating his personal life with his expertise as a clinical psychologist and former Harvard professor. The guy has an outstanding CV, and as long as he stays off of the religious stuff he has a respectable academic approach to some of these topics (as we should expect). Hopefully youre not doing this intentionally.

That said it is a bit nutty how people hold him up as an infallible guru truth-teller and cite him to "OMG OWN LIBERALS!" as that directly goes against his method of debate.

I'll second that. Sam Harris has some interesting work going on in neuroscience (or supposedly, getting ahold of his publications is a headache). I personally think that Harris is a little more intelligent than Peterson but I enjoy both of them. I don't know what your opinion of Joe Rogan is, but he's been the easiest access to Peterson and Harris for me, which has actually been quite insightful.

I just wish I could access their publications to read up on what they've produced academically.
