Yo this is actually cool as shit. In putting together the devices, the kids get to experiment with how the technology works and get it to read inputs from the IR camera and such.

So it's a cheap as hell accessory but it looks fun.

They announced that it would be for kids and kids at heart and they delivered. I think it looks neat and I have cousins that would definitely be interested. If I have some extra money, I'll definitely pick it up just to see how it is.

I'm not making fun. I'm just saying here's Sony and Microsoft doing basically the same thing, and then here's Nintendo in 3018.

Honestly, it's kind of a neat idea to replace basic peripherals. I wouldn't mind having a little cardboard fishing rod for a Zelda minigame. The foot pedals/cycle throttle could be a neat little gimmick too.

I'd be more likely to try this than most other things tbqh.

This. The cardboard is fine and like $15-$20, comes packaged with a game, so the price is actually affordable. Plus there's a market for cardboard VR sets. (This is essentially VR kits.)

It's about $70 per kit. Keep in mind though that the kits aren't just cardboard, comes with a game as well.
