Skye Reynolds 01/14/18 9:36:08 PM #1:	Nothing has been more consistent than Nintendo's inconsistencies in censorship. In Double Dragon, the game starts out with a cutscene of Williams gut-punching Marion and carrying her away. (The panty shot from the arcade is omitted, however.) Furthermore, you can grab Linda by the hair and kick her in the face or brutalize her with mounted punches after knocking her to the ground. Meanwhile, Final Fight replaced female adversary Poison with a male equivalent named Sid due to implications of violence against women. Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono, when asked in an interview about the matter, stated "Let's set the record straight: in North America, Poison is officially post-op transgender. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female." He later emphasized it again when asked about what female characters could be included in the game Street Fighter IV, stating that it would be too confusing to include her due to the region-specific gender. Since then, however, he has changed his mind twice, first declaring her a definite post-op in all regions for better ease of localization and consistency with past official statements, and then later deciding that it's best to leave it up to the fans after all. The guy could've shown up and cried without a spoken word. It's like they're showing off their censorship. If that was the case, it could've easily been cut out. As much as I hate censorship, it wouldn't have affected the gameplay to have omitted the abduction scene.
