Not sure if my fault.

Years ago I opted out of the military for college. Right away that was a bad idea because parents mortgage went up during that little mini depression era. So like a good son, I get a job and keep the house afloat. I kinda drop out of school since it's 12hr job.

Dad loses his job, I can't handle payments myself. House is lost. Move in with grandparents. Dad leaves mom due to financial stress/shame/arguing/etc. Now grandparents house is losing. So I decide to stay as a renter to help out. Well, it's not enough. They cannot keep up the payments unless I go half with them. I decide not to this time (didn't work so well with the other house).

My girlfriend and I decide to find an apartment together. My grandparents to move in with other fam. But my mother doesn't want to move in with anyone but me. She has bad blood between her sibs.

So now I'm stuck taking care of her. I wanted to live independently. Tired of helping, but it goes against my nature to leave my mother.

Any advice?

All my siblings are incapacitated at the moment due to location and/or their own financial situation. I wish my mother would just ask her siblings for help, but she's too proud or whatever the fuck is going on. It really does seem like we have no choice.

I'm not a good son. I want to get away. Should have left my family when I had the chance. And I had multiple chances. It was a mistake to help because we're even worse off than before. It's been a slow downhill journey. I don't want this weight. I want my brothers and sisters to help more. I want my mother to go to her siblings for help.

I stayed home to help everyone out, but I've trapped myself. And I'll feel guilty if I leave her now.

My mother said not to worry. She'll get her own apartment. But damn that seems like a massive waste of money. I wish she got along with her family more. idk. Should I just offer to be her roommate? Ugh... The whole point was to get away because I thought she was set.

The smart thing to do is pool our money. Help each other out. Only problem is I'm already feeling resentment towards my family. I know I shouldn't because I owe her everything, but I'm going to hate myself and everything if I don't get away.
