Might be well known around here but I got a kick out of it when I first found out.

Media have unrestricted access to Florida police reports. IIRC that is the only state to have that rule in effect.

Due to this, people dig around Florida the most to pull crazy shit.

I say this mainly because I can only imagine the stupid stories that would come out of here >.>

How would you USA fellas describe Florida to someone who's never been?

I have only been there once and it was to the super cliche Miami (which wasn't much different than San Diego, beaches, bars, babes, huge party scene, pretty nice city TBH but I was only there for 3 days).

So I can't really say TBH. The culture wasn't far off from subsets of my city. I also went at a good time of the year though so idk if that makes a huge difference.

Lived in florida for 25 years. (St. Petersburg, Tampa and Orlando). Lots of options for beach/touristy stuff. Weather's warm and humid most of the year, winter is basically non-existant. It rains quite a bit though, and the humidity can suck. Population skews a bit older thanks to lots of people retiring to florida, but its also pretty family friendly and if you're college age, we've got a lot of them (UCF is one of the biggest in the country).

From what I hear, journalist will use it as a fallback for whenever they can't find anything local. Some just report the story and some use it to frame an argument or point.

I just wish I knew why Florida is the only state to allow it.
