Chemical interactions in the atmosphere from all the meteor, asteroid, and comet impacts during the planet's formation resulted in simple organisms (scientists have created entirely new species of bacteria from scracth already), which in turn led to more complex organisms, and eventually to us as humans.

And nothing close to actual cells beyond that.

That experiment still gets a lot of ink in biology text books, but the decades of failed follow ups and diverging theories on the origin of life (three different camps) gets hardly a mention.

As opposed to Abraham gods who let atrocities be committed in the name of "freedom"

I don't think any god that actually cared about his/her creations would allow such awful things to happen, regardless of whether he/she had to intervene to stop them.

So either god doesn't exist and we were a fluke or some super natural being does exist, but doesn't give a damn what we think of him and has already gone on to make more "experiments".

We don't know yet. But there are plenty of things that we know now that we didn't know previously. That's the basis of science. Our lack of understanding about something doesn't invalidate science remotely.

The most widely believed idea among scientists is that the first life form was formed at a thermal vent at the bottom of the ocean. Something about the extreme pressure there allowed it to happen.

At least, that's what I was told in my Evolution class last year. We also discussed other possibilities, such as panspermia.

Absolutely seriously?
I don't really know. 35 years and being raised catholic. Idk.
I guess I would say this. I absolutely 100% do not believe in evolution as an explanation for humanity's existence. Nor do I believe in it as an explanation for all life on this planet in general. I believe in it in a very limited scope. Like how a subdivision of genus breaks off over millions of years and adapts to a new area.
But then was it a magical being that simply blinked everything into existence? No, not really that either.

I think it's more along the lines of there being a higher plane. Something else that we can't perceive until we're dead. And from there is the entity(s) be view as god(s). I believe in god. I believe in miracles. But I feel like we have something wrong on our end on how we understand what they are.

Idk. None of us will know until we're dead. I just feel in my gut that the idea that all of us. Everything we are, our world, the universe, all of it. All the little tiny details that go into even the most simple of things that make them be. It can't be all the result of pure chance brought on by an unexplainable space fart zillions of years ago.

Basically life is much better at storing energy and creating entropy than nonliving matter.

If you add enough energy to an ecosystem and the other conditions are satisfied (temperate, liquid water, carbon, etc) life forming from no life becomes deterministic.

How can you be 100% dismissive of evolutionary theory and then state belief in an afterlife?

The idea of being able to percieve anything after death defies a basic understanding of neuropsychology. You might as well dismiss physics as a whole while you're at it.

Very well then, I dismiss physics. In this department I completely dismiss what a bunch of dipwad scientists think they know about something they can't possibly begin to explain, measure or quantify. Neuropsychology can't explain what happens after death no matter how much some godless scientists think it does. I don't believe in evolution. I do believe in an afterlife. But that's just me.
