I just bought some BAT. My first altcoin. I was talking to some hardcore ETH traders, and they insisted on it. Apparently it uses blockchain to facilitate online advertising. Was started by the co-founder of Firefox and they are rumored to be announcing a deal with a top 3 advertising firm later this month. Should make the price explode.

What you fail to realize is that mega institutional investors arent even in this yet (at least not on a large scale). There isnt a single trading desk on Wall Street yet for cryptocurrencies (though they are planning to have one open by this summer). We are still early in the game.

I have been an active investor for a long, long time and have seen this scenario play out the same way dozens of times. Yeah, it's neat that they are making enough money to buy lunch at Taco Bell, but this is the last place anyone should come for investment advice. Yours, in particular.

By all means, use your small amount of pocket change to make a few dollars on cryptocurrency while the rest of us are investing and making real money in real trades. This ain't one of them. I mean, they can't even afford to buy bitcoin, which is where the real action is - and if you're into the greater fool theory of investing.

BTW, that isn't true. All of the action is being driven by large funds and they have even created futures for cryptocurrencies. These are well known facts. Me thinks you don't know much about this market.

Oh, don't worry, I learned my [very expensive] lesson.

I'm seriously considering dumping my BTC into ETH. The fucking fees are getting annoying. Good idea or no? BCH and Ripple are also enticing and honestly I have no idea who's gonna come out at top anymore.

Dump BTC. It is on its deathbed. Aside from being the first coin, bitcoin has nothing special about it. The technology is essentially obsolete compared to ETH. The same is true with BCH. Ripple is overvalued and has been heavily pumped (from what I understand, most the banks piloting using it arent impressed). ETH is clearly the future of blockchain tech, and people are starting to realize it. It is only a matter of time until it surpasses BTC in terms of market cap.

Keep in mind that if you've got ripple or lumens you likely have to convert to btc before cashing out.

I dropped ripple at $3 and lost value down to $2.85 while waiting for the transactions to be validated, lost a bit more while waiting for the btc validation before making the money.

I lost around 20% of my ripple profit due to this.
