Welcome everyone to the BEST SIMPSON'S EPISODE EVER TOURNAMENT! PRESENTED BY CURRENT EVENTS!

As the first topic in this idea I've had for awhile, here is the basic groundwork.

INTRODUCTION

I looked at the Top 24 episodes of Simpsons ever, as based on user star ratings on IMDB. The list is from 2015, but I doubt anything in 2015 and beyond would belong on this list. This list has a nice little two sentence explanation of the episode if you do not have episode names memorized. In each topic I will also explain each episode that we are voting on.

Using Challong, I've created a tournament involving the Top 24 episodes of all time!

The 1-8 seeds have a bye in the first round, since that seems appropriate. Every day (or maybe twice a day depending on how 1-sided a vote gets) we will put up a new poll and see which episode out of the two is considered better. Winner moves on, loser is dropped. There will be a third place vote as well.

THE COMBATANTS!

HOMER'S ENEMY - Industrious Frank Grimes starts working at the plant beside Homer. He complains to the other employees about how useless Homer is, which causes them to wonder why Frank is being so troublesome.

vs.

LAST EXIT TO SPRINGFIELD - Homer becomes union leader and leads a company strike when Mr. Burns takes away the company dental plan.

I honestly don't know which to vote for. Last Exit to Springfield is iconic and one of the best overall episodes ever made. Homer's Enemy is quite a meta commentary on Homer as a character and The Simpsons as a whole, with being hilarious at certain points too.

Last Exit to Springfield really is my favourite episode of the show. I don't say that lightly either - it's a masterpiece. Homer's Enemy is great, and a great commentary on the show itself, though, in fact I think it's one of the most watched episodes ever? Or highest rated, or something like that. My favourite line from that episode is: "Good lord, this place is a palace. I live in a single apartment above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley."

But Last Exit to Springfield just perfectly encapsulates everything great about those early seasons. Come gather 'round children, it's high time ye learned, about a hero named Homer and a devil named Burns.

Also Last Exit to Springfield has Abe Simpson's "I tied an onion to my belt" story.
