Makes me wonder what I'd feel like if that happened.. my Dad was usually non supportive, left Mum to raise us on welfare but he always had $ for his war memorabilia..

He told me and my bros his game plan one day.. to move out and leave him and Mum alone.

I was more than happy to grant his wish.. my bros thou.. still living there.. in their 30s ._.

But ya, this already usually depressing time of year probably isnt helping to begin with.. loss or dealing with his xmas day passing.. sorry

He was 55.

He had an issue with drugs. That's why I cut him out of my life. It got to a point where he was only hurting my life and the life of my son.

We aren't sure how he died, but an over dose seems likely. I should get the autopsy back in 4-6 weeks

I hadn't cried about it until I sat my son down Tuesday night and told him. Something about saying it to him made me break down.

His funeral is tomorrow. $4237 later and everything is paid for and ready to go.

it hurts because you always had a chance he could better himself down the line and be great in your life, so like you never want to see them go.

I'm stressed out. Between "family" going through his (mine now) house without telling me and taking whatever the fuck they saw fit, to his will claiming me as the sole beneficiary but it not being signed (the attorney that prepared it died last year apparently, my attorney is trying to track down whoever took over for him), to having an entire new mortgage and basic bills put on my shoulders, to all of my normal responsibilities. It all has me drained.

Hopefully tomorrow goes smoothly and I can use it to put any negative feelings I still hold toward him in the past.

if you have money most people say it's crazy not to leave a will, kinda the same logic with prenups. are you religious? some people do think this stuff is easier on the religious

He didn't have money. He's in debt about $27000 with credit cards and still owes $30000+ on his house that is only worth about 100k.

He had a will drawn up but the copy I found in his things isn't signed. I assumed the attorney that prepared it would have a signed copy but after learning he passed away also it's been hard finding out who (if anyone, if not I'm fucked and looking at months of probate) took over his practice.

I'm not religious at all. I've been prepared for the call I received on Christmas morning for awhile.
