Welcome to Star Wars Week on Board 8, a new poll every day leading up to the release of The Last Jedi!

Yesterday's Result: Vader's no slouch, but Batman is a heavy favorite to take home of the title of strongest new character in the 2018 GameFAQs Contest. The surprise of the poll was Goku, who tied Darth V for the runner up position.

Today's Question: Now that you've seen it, how would you rate The Last Jedi?

If you asked me the day I saw it I'd have said the first option

But I voted the last one. It was an entertaining movie while I was watching it but the more I think about it, the more I dislike it. Not only because I do think that the movie has gotten worse in my mind from a pure movie standpoint, but because of a lot of the things its done for Star Wars as a whole being very distasteful to me.

Not as good as TFA but still quite decent.

It's a very sloppy narrative, and disappointing from a character standpoint. Still, it's better than TFA and probably RoTS.

I'm a fan of movies before star wars so while I can understand the issues people have with it from like a fan standpoint they don't really bother me. There were some parts where I was like "why are they doing this" but otherwise I like the rather different approach they had. Like I also enjoyed all the added humor they tossed into the movie.

I still don't think it's better than the original trilogy but it's better than the prequels and rogue one+Force Awakens.

Okay I have a major problem with the first option.

Return of the Jedi isn't even the best Star Wars film since 1983, in fact it's one of the worst.

Anyway, TLJ was great. One of the all-timers for sure.

5>8>4>7>3>6>2>1, by the way. Rogue One doesn't count, but I liked it quite a lot.

Hyperspace kamikaze/10

I liked this movie, the humor was ...weird and some moments felt a bit misplaced. Overall I do like a self aware movie, so that was fine.

There was a lot going on @_@ My fave from the OT is New Hope though, and nearly everything I like is boring and dialogue-heavy. It was relatively easy to track, considering the different action scenes.

Fucking loved it. My initial reaction was very positive and then I saw it three times the other day, and I loved it even more.

I'd say it's on par with ESB but it's possible I'm just overly hyped about it right now. So my rankings may change a bit some time in the future, but as of now I guess I'd go

ESB > TLJ > ANH > RO > TFA > RotJ >>> prequels who cares

I'm actually not sure, my love of the movies fluctuates. A few days ago I woulda put RotJ over ANH, but recently watching the first movie left me with a new appreciation for it. For some reason. But I love it a lot more now than I ever used to. One thing I do know for certain, ESB being number one has never and will never change.

Best SW movie since 1980 probably. Not perfect by any means, but hits such great high notes... kinda like RotJ but feels overall better in several ways.

UPDATE: Last Jedi pulled down another $99 million over the holiday weekend, leaving it just short of 400 million for the overall domestic total. It should be crossing that mark this evening, which would make it the third fastest to break that barrier behind only Force Awakens and Jurassic World, and just ahead of Avengers. At this rate it should catch Beauty and the Beast to become the #1 movie of 2017 by Saturday.

But let's do one final bump to see what Board 8 thinks, specifically the users that just caught it on Christmas Day.
