There are times when I'm working on various projects and I have stuff scattered everywhere and it gets a little chaotic but food wrappers, trash papers, etc. are too damn easy just to put in a waste basket. Sometimes you forget multiple times and there is a mess. It's not hard to understand. Most people don't live in their rooms. They go there for sleeping and maybe a computer if they have one in their room. Both activities register a "I'll get this trash once I finish my current drink/food and get up." Not saying it's a non-issue.
