A monitor isn't necessary like you already said, and I mentioned getting a cheap kb/m bundle. They go cheap with CPU, hard drive, RAM etc. and developers work around them to get the games working. This is a luxury PC's will never have. But PC has the upside of a more open ecosystem. You're not in a walled garden and you have a lot of options. If you don't want to pay for online? Don't. You can also make a build for precisely what you're looking for. Want something that plays modern games at 1080p/60fps? That's easy to make. You don't have to buy a pro/X version of a console and hope developers patch in that option. In reality there's no reason for anyone to build a PC that does exactly what the Xbox One does. It would be wasting money.
