I've intentionally gained 30 lbs in total. Getting a little fat now, but arm growth is my top priority. I'm also up to bench pressing 95 lbs again, woo!

I'd call shenanigans, but I know you're legit, PPP. What did you do to your bicep that needed surgery in the first place?

I tore my bicep lifting a 700 lb tire at a strongman competition.

So, so many, but being someone who contended with the trauma at the time by making jokes about it in the emergency room I appreciate them.

I also got some s*** on CE back then for continuing to workout with my one good arm and people saying I looked horrible, haha.

The small arm wasn't being worked out for almost a month after the injury, but it didn't change much until after surgery when it was completely immobilized in a cast and a sling for a few weeks. Being supported like that made the muscle atrophy at a crazy pace. I continued lifting with my other arm and doing squats.

why don't you post here anymore TC

I do pretty regularly but I don't see a lot of fitness conversations so it's usually not about that. I try not to be one of those guys who only talks about working out like some of my Crossfit friends, haha.

I remember you posting a pic of this a few months ago. Glad to see that you're back on your way to evening out.

Out of curiosity, is the skin flabby at all or has it tightened back up now that you're refilling the area with muscle?

Hard to say because I have to limit the weight. Right now I'm not barbell bench pressing over 95 lbs and I just reached that level following a very restricted progression scheme (I'm dumbbell pressing more with the good arm, of course). I'd like to make the one-year anniversary in April be a full recovery but we'll see. If it was at 100% I would guess six months, due to muscle memory.

I always think of Collette from Tales of Symphonia when reading your name...(she screams out "POW POW....hammer" or something...).

Which couldn't be....more different.

I played ToS on Gamecube over a decade ago but don't remember her saying that. It was inspired by Soul Calibur on Dreamcast when Kilik goes "Scream! You want more punishment?!"

Thanks, much appreciated. The skin was incredibly loose and floppy when my arm was at its smallest but now that I'm filling out it's tight again.

Not very much due to the adrenaline. It felt like a really bad cramp hit me. I was cradling my arm after and didn't have much pain.

Here's a picture of it in the emergency room restroom. It's not too grotesque but you can see the bicep detached from the elbow: AU43Ny0

I do, but I knew that was a risk when I competed and I would/will do it again.

I'm glad it happened in competition going all out instead of in training, too.

Because I had just finished lifting and didn't bother to take them off and stop the music/podcast I was listening to.

Yeah I broke my ankle a couple years ago and I was joking with the EMTs that picked me up and the people in the hospital. I had like 12 different doctors come in my room just to look at it because the break was so bad

Of course I was hammered when I broke my ankle and then they gave me morphine so it didn't even hurt until I woke up from surgery
