Hard but fair. If you want something with the difficultly of Dark Souls but without the artificial difficulty then you can't go wrong with Ninja Gaiden Black.

lololololno

ng was heavily luck based

There's literally no luck to the game. It's pure skill and knowledge of enemy patterns.

If you can beat the first boss you can beat the game. The combat system and weapons in this game are A-1 easily one of the best action games ever. You want impossoble try Devil May Cry 3 ugh that game pissed me off better yet different genre but Rainbow Six on N64 is hard as fucking fuck

Ninja Gaiden Black did new game + exceptionally well.

You didn't see a lot of the really cool enemies till you unlocked Master Ninja mode.

I haven't seen any recent action games including DMC do new game + on that level.

Kitetsu is like my favorite sword ever

The Life draining, how it can split into two, the boomerang and that thrust attack. I loved it's ultimate attack too. Black allowed you to get more moves and remove its life draining power from the player (can still drain enemies)

It really wasn't

Literally git gud

This is true. It was one of the few games that was hard at the beginning and became less frustrating as I learned the game

I've watched a LOT of NGB vids, and they're hardly segmented unless they're combo vids. As for them employing the same tactics, that's not really true either. While it's a much better idea to be efficient in NG as opposed to stylish in DMC or Platinum's games, there are still mostly multiple optimal ways of covering situations. You can even get stylish on enemies and even bosses if you know what you're doing. I've seen people fight bosses in unconventional ways, win, and look really cool doing it.

i watched all the stuff from iberian. watched plenty of replays on sigma 2. watched people try to prove alchemists in ng3 wasnt luck based and fail.

out of everything ive seen, i have only seen ONE instance of unique playstyle in sigma 2. but even then it was only first stage.

heres how they all play out:
pick a weapon (the only variety)
spam safe move to generate essence
dodge, jump, landing charge
repeat
*for boss fights, they might resort to wooden sword @ low hp

So, Ninja Gaiden 2004 vs Ninja Gaiden Black. Which one is better? Black has more content and better camera controls. 2004 has a more sensible difficulty level, unlike Black where the choices are asininely hard and Ninja Dog.

Oh, and the Ultimate Technique systems are pretty different.

They're both worth owning imo. Lots of little differences between the two. In NG, there's the NES versions of NG1, 2, and 3, some extra costumes, and we recently figured out how to play the online hurricane packs if you soft mod your Xbox.

NGB has mission mode, extra difficulties with different enemy placements, some extra costumes, and the arcade version of NG.

I'd probably prefer Black just for the harder difficulties and enemy placement, but you really can't go wrong with either.

I somehow played through Sigma on the Vita. Framerate was bad at times lol.

IIRC I struggled the most with some helicopter boss. I primarily abused some jump, cut move.

I liked it but it was hard to get into after Bayonetta.

That first level and boss is so great though. It feels like a test you need to pass before you can play the actual game.

Kind Regards,
