DC fans just need to realize that Batman's only good because of his villains, Superman's a shitty character, nobody really cared about Wonder Woman prior to a year or two ago, and only really hardcore comic fans care about the rest of them. So, no real rogue gallery plus another generic Superman plus an admittedly good Wonder Woman plus who cares about the rest plus just all around horrible screen writing and directing equals a shit movie franchise.

I wouldn't come to that conclusion. Remember how in Supernatural, the overall tone of the show was light and comical, but then when Death made his first appearance the entire tone of the show shifted into dark and ominous, just for the scenes he was in?

I mean Supernatural was not a great show overall but that is a great example of how you can use different tones for different characters to showcase their different personalities.

I mean yeah. Batman would be the dark and gritty part while Superman would bring the hope and inspiration in. As it stands, all the DCEU heroes we're dark and depressed versions of themselves because of Snyder instead of acting how they normally do in the comics or JL cartoon.

Supernatural was already a dark show, it was never really light and comical.

David Ayer is a decent director. His filmography is pretty hit or miss. Suicide Squad's biggest problem was all the studio meddling and the executives, who clearly don't know what they're doing, fucking it over.

The more I think about Man of Steel, the more I realize I would have liked its Superman more if I hadn't watched it with all the biases of being a long-time comic book fan. I love that Russell Crowe, Amy Adams and Michael Shannon were in it, and I think Henry Cavill was fine for what was needed. There were a lot of interesting visuals, especially for the Krypton scenes. My only big complaint was the overly long fight scene at the end, but at least they made Zod a formidable opponent. The soundtrack was also pretty good, though I don't usually hear anyone else praising it.
