Dunno last time I checked back in my day I had to grind hours to unlock a useless item

Gamers these days at least have an option to pay very little money to get items

Yeah, I really don't get it. It must be a principle thing: "How dare people spend money on something that you can also spend time on!"
At my age I don't have nearly as much time to play games as I used to, so I appreciate games where I can enjoy the content without having to devote as much time to it.

Its gambling that is often aimed at kids and without the oversight/odds check that casios have to try to make them fair.

Also in order to have them have any use you have to break the reward structure of the game to the point where you expect NO player to actully be grinding to the point of unlocking everything.

IMO, the issue with loot boxes comes from what the developers decide to put into loot boxes. There's a difference between grinding for hours for the item, and grinding for hours for the chance at any item.

What makes it worse is when loot boxes are the only way to get weapons/armor, so you'll have people who spent hundreds on loot boxes to get the items to have an advantage over the majority
