They're incredibly fun, well-made, and awesome games that get shit on for no reason other than the fact that they are often yearly-releases and because they're published by Ubisoft (a publisher who gets too much hate).

Didn't the Assassin's Creed franchise start to get a bad rep when Assassin's Creed 3 released?
Ezio is probably the best character in the series as well.

I started marathoning the series. Hoping to get to 4 before I take a break. So far 1 is kind of awkward. 2 has some nice improvements. I probably played Brotherhood wrong because I found it has too many time wasters, I've spent 1/4 of the game standing around waiting for timers to expire because I wanted to finish what was available before progressing with the plot. I guess I should have let them go until late game.

With 1 I got better synchronization, and thus more health, by doing the optional stuff. I eventually realized this gave me a false impression for the later games where character strength is more closely tied to plot progression.
