The Karate Kid is only about ten minutes long and it's incredibly easy. Back to the Future isn't that hard either. But some of those I don't think I could beat even if you gave me 48 hours. So I'd try but my main concerns would be Battletoads and Ghosts N Goblins.

NES era games tend to be hard and I was never good at games, just played then for fun but I'd try

I've only beaten TMNT out of them, Lol. And ...it was a total fluke. I cannot replicate my success. That final hallway...it's like I have to luck out once I get there. The hilarious part? I beat the game with 3 turtles, too. I was in the zone that day.

I can beat the original Double Dragon probably about 40% of the time I play it. Worst part are those damn blocks.

Two other not as popular hard games I had on the NES were The Hunt for Red October and Superman. I've only beaten Superman as an adult, and again...it was one of those "only gonna beat it once" kind of runs. Never was able to replicate that success.

The problem is a good number of stages force trial and error memorization. Its impossible to pass certain obstacles by sheer reaction time, you have to know ahead where to position yourself. That plus the limited lives and all makes that game a deal breaker (havent played it enough to memorize those obstacles).

This. People mistake 80's games as short because they fail to factor in how much time it takes to die 300 times in every level, and go back to the very start of the game every three of those deaths.
