I made a topic about three weeks ago on how I got a part time gig at Book A Million. In short, it sucks. I thought it was going to be a chill job where I shelve books and work register but the whole job is basically getting people to buy subscriptions, magazines, and pay money to support troops overseas.

Last Sunday, I wasnt supposed to work since the assistant GM who hired me told me I wouldnt work Sundays but apparently, some other manager called me and was pissed that I didnt show up. Got in trouble for that.

Lots of other dumb stuff I wont go into detail about but Im seriously considering not going in today. Im a full time pre med student and I made it very clear I didnt want many hours when taking the job yet these people are still giving me 30 hour work weeks. My entire weekends are non existent since I do Fridays from 6pm to 12am. Sat from 12pm to 8 pm. Sun from 2pm to 10pm.

School and personal life already has me stressed out to be max. I just wanted a chill job. Not ultimate stressor #3. Im going to feel real bad not going in or quitting this soon though. Dont know why.

This sucks man. It would be slightly worth doing if I had a cute girlfriend but even the girl I like treats me badly. Fuck man

I would go in today to avoid looking like you're just slacking off, then in the near future, explain your situation to the scheduling manager. If they're unable to accommodate your scheduling requirements, then the employer/employee match isn't a good one, and it would be better for both parties for you to resign. But at least take the time to collect and explain your thoughts; your situation could just be a miscommunication between your hiring managers and scheduling managers.

I'd not go in and tell them you didnt agree to Sundays. If they got an issue find someone else
