For the life of me, I don't understand Matt & Trey. They're very... eccentric people and often seem to have paradoxical beliefs. It makes no sense that they would bash Donald Trump of all people. Trump is awesome, and I figured they'd be on board with him like I am.

Matt and Trey have gone on record to say they dislike both liberals and conservatives and often riff on them in different ways. If you're looking for political praxis, South Park is definitely the wrong place to find it. Their main objective is to figure out what to make fun of, not what to make commentary on (although, that does end up happening anyway).

It's just, I'd always heard they were conservatives. That and, since everything else on TV talks shit about Trump, I figured they'd find it unsporting. After all, they never trash the universally loathed WBC.

I think so that's probably why Cartman broke up with his girlfriend it seemed like they were trying to cut those ties maybe?

I don't know, I guess I was in favor of the season arcs personally.

Not sure where you heard that. They're right-leaning centrists at best.

Right-leaning?

I'd say more left-leaning than anything, but definitely centrists.

I'm sure taming one of the most popular characters in the show down to a dull boyfriend had something to do with that.

HA, it's fun to see South Park Republicans get disillusioned.

I'm always a little surprised when anyone is watching South Park nowadays regardless of the format.

Aside from the Trump bashing and occasional Towlie or Mr. Hankey episode, South Park is still pretty awesome.

That and the WBC does a good job at making fun of themselves.

Every once in awhile they'll come out with something that's pretty funny. Otherwise it's too topical and opinionated for my tastes. And also doesn't have a clear point of view of its own. Simply shits on the point of view of others. Some celebrate that as a sort of middle-ground neutrality, but I just find it boring and cowardly.

Last season has aged horribly. It's like watching reruns of the news... just nothing besides old hot social topics and politics that we have all gone past.

It's funny for an episode but it was overkill with the whole season focused on it.

Think they canned story arcs since the disaster of season 20 and how they thought Hilary would win the election.
