I haven't noticed anything on my end but I'm on a 3DS XL. I usually charge my 3DS every time I put it down to go do something else for a few minutes so maybe that's why I haven't noticed.

Finished the game earlier today, initially was like 8:12 with forgot item%, then almost 9 hours with 100%, pretty good stuff, gonna try hard mode after i finish the EO5 demo i think.

I kind of feeling what you're saying. I've only been playing one hour per day because of tediousness. I still like the game but I start to zone out when playing it for too long.

Alright, I slammed through the rest of the game for 100% Saturday. Here's what I think.

- The map is too damn big. The added warp points are nice, but some areas are still pretty out of the way and a chore to backtrack to. It's good you get Scan Pulse so early, because bombing every wall in every room in this game would take weeks.

- Ice Beam is so fucking OP. I kind of trashed it in my last post, so let me fix some errors in it. Charged shots give you all day to stand on an enemy, way more than you get with a standard shot. Ice + missile one shots all the freezable trash mobs, and ice + melee is also a one shot, but with a cool down because you can't spam melee. Charged Ice Beam WRECKS Metroids. It turns Alphas and Gammas into little bitches (which is all you need, given how rare Zetas and Omegas are).

- Screw Attack is weak. All the endgame enemies take 2 hits. WTF.

- That amazing set piece in Area 4 where the mining robot tries to murder you during a five minute chase was great. Hard af, but great.

- Area 6 boss spoilers. Holy shit that fucking robot is literally Quadraxis in 2D. Cool fight, super tough. It took a while for me to figure out how to beat phase three. Hint: Dodongo dislikes smoke.

- Endgame (post Area 8) spoilers. Getting to tote around the baby on an SR388 world tour for the last few pickups was very unexpected. I was hoping you'd get a beam that could break those crystals, but instead you get a sidekick.

- Final boss spoilers. Ridley kicked my ass. It's been awhile since I've played a platformer where you actually need to learn boss patterns to not get wrecked on the default difficulty.

It also was like that in the original, i pretty much spent most of the GB game using ice because of it.

Ice is useless against Omegas though so might as well use plasma + the aeoin minigun to break its chest lol

They really "balanced" screw attack in this game, not only it's not a one shot against most of the enemies from area 4+, it's also not recommendable to use against the exploding spiders or any of the robot defense systems because you actually take damage from them...
Also dunno if it's just me, know how in every other game with screw attack you "melt" through blocks? in this its almost like you get stuck on them before breaking them and it felt weird...

Area 8, i kind knew what was gonna happen, i mean it's the same in the original minus re-exploring.

Final boss: i made through it with 10 hp bar and whatever the metroid would drain back from ridley, that fight was fucking awesome.

it feels like remnants of fusion are in there, especially with the way the wall jump works since that's directly from fusion

On topic: I beat MSR last Sunday, going to beat Hard tonight. I only have the final boss left on Hard, cleaned up my 100% collection last night. I'm not sure if I want to go for the best ending on Hard next (I got the worst on my first Normal and Hard runs, I was more focused on exploring and learning the layout than speed), or a run on Fusion.

Finished it a couple nights back. 100% in a shade under 13 hours. Fantastic game; probably my second favorite 2D Metroid behind Super. Love how many things in the game were actual threats.
