It's that feeling of moving on... there's something so bittersweet about it.

when it comes to gamefaqs, in the past few years I actually frequent & post at non-gaming forums far more than I do the gaming-related ones & I only play for a few hours per week now (and it's going to be less and less as time goes). In fact, I noticed my siblings & my girlfriend play more than I do and they're no gamers.

Shit... I guess I'm growing out of it now... >_> And by this I mean, I actually don't see myself turning back..

No. To me it would be like growing out of reading, which I wont ever do as well.

I'm not sure if I'm growing out of it, or simply I don't have time and the free time I do have Id rather socialize.

Sounds like you need to get yourself a PlayStation VR. That will completely change the way you look at gaming.

I just play a different genre when this happens to me, or play more tabletop stuff with friends.

I started feeling all that when I was like 23 and all I played was online shooters and stuff with my friends on Live.

Then I got way back into Nintendo, and years later my girlfriend started playing them too. Now I'm enjoying video games as much as when I was a kid.

Playing new games is an engaging and a learning experience. It takes a lot more effort to turn on and play a new game than it does to just sit down and watch TV.

People get older and stop putting effort into things and fall into habits so it's natural to not want to make the effort to play games as you age. You probably don't read or search for new music either because those also require effort.
