Not a surprise to me. I assume the selection of games will be slightly different, and it'll probably mirror the $80 price point of the SNES classic. Just my guess, but I always felt they killed off the NES classic initially cause they were unprepared for the success of it, and realized they MSRP'd it too low after the fact. We'll see tho.

Anyways good news for anyone who missed out!

If there's a second controller in the box, and the cables are longer than three feet, okay.
Filling out all sixty possible games would be nice too.

I think they will throw in a second controller. Easy way to raise the MSRP and have an excuse for it.

The Famicom classic had 2 controllers and cost $100

That had two because... the famicom always had two... because they're physically attached to the famicom. It kinda NEEDED to have two.

Anyways, we'll see. I think we're def getting a price increase and they're gonna remove the way to hack the damn thing for sure

lol hopefully.

They'll probably in the end still make some money. Especially if the rerelease of the NES has a different game selection or such. But at least it does seem hopeful with the SNES classic it won't be the same situation.

So tired of everytime anyone talks about the NES classic and SNES classic someone ALWAYS has to bring up Rapsberry Pi.

Ok, great. If that's what you want, go for it. Most people don't and want an official released item.

Most people don't know about Raspberry Pi, and are not technical enough to set one up. That's the only reason people drool over the NES and SNES classics.

Nah, I have an NES Classic and intend to get an SNES Classic... and I have a raspberry pi all set up, and an Ouya, and all sorts of silly things cluttering up the entertainment center.

No they just don't want it. Why waste extra time when you can have what you want

It's not about being a nerd, I have a PI and I don't like it really. It's an official collectors items ready to go out the box

For games, yes.

This is a collector's item. The primary purpose is to collect it.

Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

NES Classic Edition features 30 classic NES games such as the original Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong.

I think it's the same exact games.

That'd be cool. I have one, which I luckily managed to get from Target right before the last shipments ended, and I think the selection is really good. I'm just thinking Nintendo might switch out some third party games for a few more Nintendo published games to save any licensing fees. But I could be wrong.
