The internet was a pretty cool place that was still separated from the real world. It was something like, "Be an individual even if it makes you a loser, but remember that you are a loser and will go nowhere in life," whereas the 60s told people, "Be an individual and it will change the world." The music followed the same line in a lot of ways. That said, it's only a partial view of the decade. There are so many things I didn't get as a kid when I watched them yet still enjoyed watching them. Then I grew up and watched some of them again and enjoyed them as an adult. I feel like if kids tried that with these cartoons when they get older they'd swallow a bucket of bleach. On a more personal note, I miss being a kid. Raving culture, lad/Ladette culture, music was awesome, the still young internet was mostly un commercialised and ad free. Political correctness was still largely derided and treated with contempt.
