Is he one of the luckiest people?

On the morning of September 11, 2001, MacFarlane was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston. Suffering from a hangover after the previous night's celebrations that followed his speech at his alma mater, the Rhode Island School of Design,[180] and with an incorrect departure time (8:15 a.m. instead of 7:45 a.m.) from his travel agent,[181][182] he arrived at Logan International Airport about ten minutes too late to board the flight as the gates had been closed.[181][182] Fifteen minutes after departure, American Airlines Flight 11 was hijacked,[183] and at 8:46 a.m. it was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board.[184]

Yeah I heard of that. I also read that he doesn't think much of it since at that time he missed flights fairly often. Apparently he slept through it because of a night of drinking.

Who dat

Silverstein has said in interviews that he usually spent his mornings in breakfast meetings at Windows on the World on top of the World Trade Center North Tower, and with new tenants in the building. However, the morning of September 11, 2001, his wife insisted that he attend a medical appointment. Due to the appointment, he escaped almost certain death.[20]

Let's not forget the insurance he took out a month before the attacks.

the creator of Frasier was not as lucky.

David Lawrence Angell was an American producer of sitcoms. Angell won multiple Emmy Awards as the creator and executive producer, along with Peter Casey and David Lee, of the comedy series Frasier. Angell and his wife Lynn both died heading home from their vacation in Cape Cod aboard American Airlines Flight 11. This was the first plane to hit the World Trade Center during the September 11 attacks.

I think Jackie Chan was also scheduled to be shooting a movie on the roof of the twin towers at that time.

Imagine if McFarland had gotten on that flight. Family Guy would've been canceled - permanently as I don't see them continuing it without the guy who does most of the voices.

American Dad wouldn't exist probably.

His movie wouldn't exist or any of his other shows. That's pretty insane...all these shows that are in re-runs on TBS and Adult Swim...the content of their networks would be completely different today.
