Microwaves pass through the food and excite the atoms, but other methods, such as ovens and stoves, rely on conduction.

why do you think it only takes couple minutes to microwave something but an hour to heat it in the oven?

it's not though. i can put 4 frozen tacquitos in my microwave oven right now for the specified time and the ones in the middle will have cold spots while the ones on the outside will burn your mouth.

I call this the Microwave effect. Though there might actually be a special term for this. Not like there isn't one for everything else.

Arrange the taqcquitos around the outside of the plates. Or if it's say, spaghetti, push the noodles towards the edges of the bowl, leaving a "hole" in the middle.

It's not saying Microwaves heat food perfectly even, just that they do moreso than other methods.

and i'm saying they don't

Where the microwaves actually hit the food, it is evenly heated. Most microwaves have dead zones where there are no waves.

but my point is that microwaves don't heat evenly, that's an incorrect statement.

And the statement you quoted said "more evenly", which is a comparative statement. Since the waves penetrate the food and as such can heat inside as well as outside, it is true. An oven heats outside first, then as that gets hotter and hotter, some heat transfers further inside. Not so evenly.

Hot Pockets disprove the statement entirely.

Hot Pockets have liquid contained inside a solid so it's going to be heated unevenly no matter which method you use.

Hot pockets also have those sleeves, the purpose of which is to absorb some of the waves as a way to heat the crust right. The idea is that since the more liquid inside heats up faster it'll be even.

It just doesn't work in practice well (for hot pockets.)

If you visualize a wave, it has moments where it could potentially miss the target. For people clamoring about specific arrangements, when you use an oven or grill or stovetop you have to flip or stir whatever you're cooking anyway. That's still rearranging what you're cooking.

Also hot pockets aren't food
