Current Events > For the past year I've kept questioning myself on how I feel about eating meat.

Apart from brief moments when with family or on vacation, I've cut down on eating meat to once a week. I don't find it difficult and rarely get cravings for meat, apart from when I'm drunk or something. I watch my calorie intake and macros regularly and I meet all my goals, so I don't have an issue there either. The times when I do eat it are when I go out with friends and I'm not interested enough to find or eat a non-meat option.

But as time has gone by, I feel like I should stop making those excuses for myself, especially since I end up feeling guilty when I eat meat at those times. I have the means and options available to do it, so I should just do it.

Honestly, the biggest thing is when I'm with other people and choose non-meat options there are times when the question of why comes up and I don't want to really have to explain myself. I feel like when the conversation comes up, people end up treating it as a debate or argument as to why I do it.

Taste isn't a strong reason for me honestly. It tastes good for sure, but as I mentioned, I haven't had an issue with cutting back on it.

It's more how I feel ethically/morally about eating meat and the process within the whole industry. And I'm not against a discussion about it, hell like I said, it's something I'm still not sure about so any additional discussions or actual constructive criticisms about it are welcome.

Like, I'm not even saying everything I do regarding what I eat fits whatever ethics I have about it, but I find that not eating meat is not one that would be difficult for me to do, apart from in various social events.
