they say Redfield in a new umbrella trying to find a way to stop it. They're not saying Chris or Chris Redfield which makes make believe this really isn't him

the article you linked to even calls him chris. plus he's called chris in the game files. PLUS his japanese VA is the same as chris in two previous RE titles. i don't think there's any doubt that it's chris >_>

they just ditched bsaa and moved to umbrella cuz of brand recognition.

just goes to show that their ending didn't work as intended. should've just used his whole name instead of surname only in the ending tease (guess capcom thought their fans would be able to put 2 and 2 together but obviously not). the intended reaction was meant to be "Holy shit! He's back! Chris Redfield just saved our ass! But he's working with UMBRELLA? What could this mean?! NOOOO NOT THE END CREDITS"

instead everyone was just like "lol thats not chris redfield cuz he didn't say his first name".
