I randomly booked flights and accommodation a few days ago, for myself and going alone, heading to Singapore for the up coming weekend. I know nothing about the place, whether they speak much English there, what I'm going to do for phone and internet, how I'm getting form the airport to my hotel, money nothing. I better start doing some research, but either way, should make for an interesting weekend >_>

Damn, that quote made me think of an old movie where the world is a computer simulation, and to find it is someone tells the main character to go somewhere he has never been and to continue after he finds a DO NOT PASS sign.

And I can't remember the name.

not exactly how you describe, but I was alone in Japan few a times, without speaking much Japanese, and being lost.

one time I missed a busstop and rode to the end of the line and got out in a parking lot next to a giant cemetery and then walked down a country road til I found a payphone.

one time I got turned around after coming out of a subway and went down the wrong road and had no idea where I was but then I managed to figure out where i went wrong and retraced my steps.

I also did something similar to that last story, in Rome. couldn't find my hotel and wandered around an area of like 10 blocks until I randomly found myself back at my hotel by pure luck
