I don't think this is really fair considering only the most bitter excerpts from the book have been revealed, and its marketing has made clear that a huge portion of it is going to be mea culpa.

But I do think that, more generally, the idea that being criticized for not going far enough when your opponents are ripping on each others' wives and families is a little silly as a point of blame for an election loss, and I think those sections of her book are less carefully planned evaluations and more personal venting

I don't see how this changes the fact that Clinton won more votes. More people who voted wanted her to be President.

According to the rules of the contest and the distribution of votes, Trump won.

That however does not change the fact that more people in the last election wanted Clinton to win.

I understand why, I just don't think it works as it should, and is easily taken advantage of.

Plus as the power of the executive has grown and the states ceded more authority to the federal government, having this sort of decentralized decision-making process for a national leader makes little sense.

My problem with the electoral college is that one citizen's vote shouldn't inherently count for more than another's.

I'm in favor of overhauling the system so that if you win 40% of the state, you get 40% of the electoral votes. Seems the most fair system to me.
