Second half was infinitely better than the first

I laughed and couldn't stop and had to hold it in for like a minute or more after he said gazebos instead of placebos

Didn't want it to end because the final sewer stuff was awesome

Was hesitant at the start, but then it just got better and better so I'll be anxiously awaiting the second installment

Really glad they didn't have an orgy scene

Finally got some of the symbolism I was missing from the made for TV movie with the blood in her bathroom because I didn't connect it with her being "of age" until this movie

Glad to see the kids were the ages they should have been as well

Want to see what happens to the Henry Bauer character that puts him where he ends up in the second part since this one just showed him falling down the well and the end

If I was 12 again, I would totally have a crush on that girl

The pennywise actors voice just made me laugh so he couldn't be scary

Tim curry was obviously missed

Any thoughts?

Oh

Is it really funny? I was excited because it looked like it was just going to be scary, which is why I was so interested. If I'm going to laugh more than be afraid of the clown I'm going to be very disappointed :(

I never saw the original, that's why I ask

Was the book as funny as the film? Cause the movie was pretty funny at parts.

It had a lot of laughs, but it was mainly because of the audience laughing together.

Its not going to be scary for an adult, as most of the scares are just jump scares, but the up and downs of laughs and the spooky moments make for a good flick

That's a big no

Original is better for Tim curry as pennywise and a few of the kid actors are missed like Jonathan brandis and such, but this one is very professional with a 35mil budgetband well done while the original is just a TV mini series so it's hard to compare

One BIG advantage the TV series has is the music cues. The music in the 2017 is kind of subtle so it doesn't detract from the film, but in the miniseries the music really pops and adds to any scare factor in a big way

Best part of the 2017 movie is the kids and their interactions, while the best part of the miniseries was Tim curry. Watch this one for kids. Watch the old one for spooky clown

I thought it was great, one of the best Stephen King adaptations. Kids were all great, and I think Pennywise was really good too. Tim Curry was great, but I don't think you should be so quick to take away from the new one.

Ok, officially weirded out

I was into the thing with the new pennywise where they had his character looking in different directions or one eye being lazy and thought it was to dehumanize the clown and let the audience know that there was something more monstrous about him....

turns out that the actual actor has an incredibly lazy eye and can control it at will to make one stay in place while the other moves about! talk about creepy. I thought it was special effects :x

I just got home from seeing it. I really enjoyed it a lot. My cousin was freaking out at every scary part, then laughing about it right afterwards. I think it hit just the right balance between freaky/scary and just silly.

I do have to say that the living painting guy was really dumb though.

Your opinion on me taking my 5y/o (6 in two weeks) son to go see it?

He's been talking about it for weeks.
