I've had Netflix for 5 years now and it had my old card number.

Last year, I got a year free with the Note 7 and used it.

Just recently it ended and I wasn't going to renew. I got a few text messages about it saying my debit card was declined because my card was closed.

Then I get an email saying the problem has been solved and they have my new card number on it.

Now I'm like, what the fuck? I never gave them my new card number.

Banks will send them new numbers when the old one gets closed, as long as the account itself is the same.

Nope. Same thing happens when your card expires. Banks will send them the new expiration date automatically.

It's basically used for convenience and for you to avoid late fees.

Weird. Hulu doesn't do that. My card expired and they cancelled. Then months later I resubscribed.
