I loved the book except the weird as fuck ending.

I wonder how they gonna make the movie. It could be good.

I take it back. The ending is trash.

The Space Cowboy wasn't a hallucination, it was a real person apparently. Loved it better with the narrative of it being a vengeful ghost which they didn't follow through. FUCK

Too much King right now. That's 4 different works being adapted in the past 3 months.

They were better as 80s horrors and 90s TV mini series movies.

IT is gonna be the BEST King adaption ever tho.

Anyway, from the trailer, why couldn't she not Hey Siri? Not an updated phone/iOS?

I think it would have been better if it was a real ghost

Nah that would have been worse tbh. It should've either been not real at all or the way they had it in the book

I think you guys' way kinda destroy the horror aspect of it. Making things logical always does.

Horror isn't just about the supernatural and having it the way you wanted it makes it pretty generic and forgettable

I don't think so. The plot and theme by itself is already terrifying. Adding a ghost to it would just enhance it. Imagine if the husband actually got back up as some undead hoooly fuck that would have been intense as fuck.

Wrong

I mean, his shit has been coming out pretty shitty lately. Not seeing anything like The Shining, The Shining mini series, IT, Langoliers, Pet Sematary, Carrie, Salem's Lot, Green Mile, Thinner, Sometimes They Come Back, Stand By Me, Misery, Shawshank, etc.

Of course, some themselves are not great, but newer stuff comes off feeling worse. 1408 and The Mist have been the only memorable stuff recently and they weren't that good.

Hopefully, though it's a long time coming on a good King movie.

I can't speak to Gerald's Game specifically, but supernatural stuff often is less scary than non-supernatural horror.

Damn, I hate Gerald's Game. It's the worst King book I've ever read.

The only real suspense was the Space Cowboy and the stray dog that enters the room.

I like Gerald's Game. It's not amazing.

It'll probably be a terrible film though. I always imagined it as sort of a student project with with same woman playing Jesse, Goodwife Burlingame, and the fake Ruth all dressed differently since they're all just different aspects of herself.

Quite literally my least favorite Stephen King book.

At least Dreamcatcher had potential. This was just bad.

I'd say wait and give the movie a shot. I hate the book, but the director is one of the best modern horror directors.

I could go along with that. My main problem with the novel was that it went on for so long it just started going around in circles. The premise could have worked as a short story or a 100 page novella. Or maybe have some chapters outside the house that don't involve the MC. Even in Misery, King included scenes outside the house.
