You know, that era back in the early 00's when guys thought it was cool and edgy to support bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Slipknot...

Looking back, it does seem odd that all that screamy shit managed to become mainstream popular. I'd definitely take it over what's currently on the radio though

Yes I remember, I used to get made fun of hard for liking iron maiden and a lot of those guys now pretend they never liked nu metal and that part of their life didn't exist

No question.

Be careful what you wish for.

The Korn/Limp Bizkit era was one of pure edge and shit.

What's funny is that when I first created this account, other GameFAQs users are actually who got me into Iron Maiden.

I also remember it was considered cool to spike and bleach your hair and wear a necklace made of big metalish balls and to wear a small skate shirt and baggy dickies pants

The video for the rock show by blink 182 captures that era well

It was a moment it time. It's embarrassing now but it was the thing back then. There's tons of stuff like that across all decades.
I was in high school in the mid/late 90s. And yeah, my friends and I listened to Limp Bizkit and Korn. And Blink and No Doubt too. Of all of that I still do listen to Blink. But yeah, spiked bleached hair, baggy pants but never to the extreme, pagers. Solid color polo shirts were a thing I seem to remember, with plaid jackets. Mix a little of that "surfer" style in. Yeah. I did it. It's embarrassing to admit it but I'm not going to deny it either.

Uggh, I remember that era. Dark times for male fashion.

Everything is just so much better now, I would have loved the way you can dress these days.

When Limp Bizkit pops up on my 90s station I still like listening to some of their bigger songs and even know all the words to a few of them

I don't know if Blink 182 fits in with those guys, but I still listen to them constantly

I feel like Blink 182 is the epitome of the kind of band that you thought was so cool as a kid but now only cringe at.

Limp Bizkit and Slipknot are good workout music. Hell, I listen to some Slipknot songs normally sometimes, Corey Taylor has song fucking pipes on him. I wish Stone Sour didn't suck, because he tends to sing with them more.

as corny as most of the nu metal era was, it was the last time that rock was just about on equal standing with rap as far as popularity and pop culture wise. Then emo came around as well as a thousand nickleback clones and rock music died completely shortly after
