I know they're notoriously "unsexy," but I'm not really a car guy, per se. If it's a quality dependable car with great fuel economy, I'm in unless it looks outrageously stupid.

i cant stand how all the gauges are in the center of the prius rather than in front of the driver's seat. for me that's a dealbreaker

They're good for what they are - reliable, anodyne transportation if you're looking to simply maximize MPGs. I'm not the target market of this class of car as they're about as interesting as white paint.

Are they trying to subconsciously get people thinking about car pooling by putting everything in the center, thereby reducing the "solo feel" of the car? The 2017 model has vastly improved on its exterior appearance such that it doesn't look laughable, but dear God, that interior layout is atrocious. Unless it has a HUD projected onto the windshield, I just can't see how that would even work.
