a lady just said "where the fuck is it"? on AHS

and I noticed they say shit now on Adult Swim. I didn't have cable for like 5 years. and I don't remember this being allowed back then.

Decency rules are all weird. They're rarely enforced when it comes to swearing nowadays, but most networks avoid them anyway

Pretty sure they say it on Fox, during stuff like Family Guy and that's a Network show. So of course they say it on cable now.

It just can't be used in context of sex. You can say "I'll fuck you up" but you can't say "I want to fuck you".

Once the shows use their 1 fuck, though, then they literally have no more fucks to give.

Basic cable shows are allowed to use fuck. It's just that they don't usually because it's an automatic TV MA rating and most advertisers don't like it

Cable networks set most of their limits based on making advertisers happy, not any laws or regulations, IIRC. Like how Comedy Central has late-night uncensored blocks, when the only advertisers are Girls Gone Wild and stuff like that anyway.

yes. fx has been pushing the envelope a bit when it comes to this lately. The last season of Always Sunny had an episode where there used pretty much every swear word and slur and the last season of Fargo had a scene with about 10 fucks in it.

its always been allowed. Cable channels can say whatever they want. the problem is it tends to turn off sponsors so many networks avoid it or keep it limited.

If they're allowed to show rape scenes in FX why wouldn't they be allowed to say the f word?

So advertisers are fine if you show the sopranos as censored, but show it unedited and suddenly they are offended?Advitisord are fine if you show Showgirls censored, but show it uncensored and it is offensive? vh1 used to show it all of the time.

Advertisers only care about their ads reaching as wide an audience as possible. Many believe that stuff like that limits the audience so they won't support it

So they feel person A will watch showgirls with his family if it's censored, but won't if it's uncensored?

It was just an example of how late-night Comedy Central programming is usually accompanied by "adult" commercials too.
