I would feel great. Sega has been doing it for years. They were probably losing interest but still making Sonic because they sell. That's where hardcore fans come in.

I don't think it really matters that much to them. Sonic Team have never tried to do a direct sequel to a Genesis game. They're doing the higher budget stuff and they're still selling well (probably more than Sonic Mania will ever sell).

I think Sega would only feel negative about it if they cared whatsoever about the Sonic franchise, which they clearly don't and never did, which is why fans had to recreate the game engine they couldn't be bothered with.

Bitter most likely....Not that Sega was a japanese company...was started by a bunch of us airforce dudes that moved to Japan after WWII and were running it up til around 1990.
