Yes. Many companies don't care which degree you have, as long as you have one if it's listed as a "Requirement" in a job description.

You'll often see "Degrees Preferred" but that does not mean you must have one of those 3 or 4 degrees listed.

This increases especially once you've been working for the same company for awhile, or have gained experience from another company and are looking to move into a new one.

I wouldn't go ahead and recommend you getting a Women's Studies degree, be somewhat reasonable with your choosing.

Degrees are somewhat becoming the new HS Diploma. I can certainly see 20 years down the road them being even more important than they are now.

I think it is worth it, but we have to do a better job to explaining to kids WHICH degrees are worth it.

We are doing our future a Great Disservice by making kids take out loans for these ridiculous, meaningless majors and then they are unable to find jobs after Graduation.

Students increasingly can't afford their degrees, yet can't afford not to have them either. This bubble has got to pop eventually, but until then, there aren't many options but to play along.

Degress can be an asset but they're more or less expected rather than treated like a bonus. The market is very competitive.

Certain markets, but again it all comes back to Proper Planning. You have a lot of people with these Worthless Social Science degrees who don't have a job. then you have people in the Hospitality Field who have no degrees but make $60-110k.

I have a friend that's only 24 that busted his ass working Overnights in Hotels that a Assistant Manager Job in NYC making $90k. On the flipside I have a friend that has a Master's in Sociology that doesn't make $40k.

There's money out here, be smart and maximize your talent and opportunities.

Money isn't everything, and it's important to note that probable difference in job satisfaction.

Though I do agree with this:

Which is that you have to go in with a plan, at least a developing plan, from the start. If you start planning your junior year, it's usually too late to make yourself competitive for a lot of things.

Not worth it if you are spending 4 years on a liberal arts degree training to be a BArista. You will end up with a mountain of debt while working for the same amount a high school grad makes.
