In 2007, I got in a car wreck that left me in a wheelchair for three months and destroyed my left leg so utterly that I have been, and will likely always be, in incredibly intense and near constant pain. I learned two things that night, that the Jaws Of Life are the loudest fucking things in existence, and that I will never wear a seat belt again.

I'd take any other moment in history over 2007.

God damn, sorry to hear that. Have you ever considered having your leg amputated or would that even get rid of the pain

I have full use of my leg, I even go running a couple times a week. I just have extreme muscular and skeletal pain every moment of the day. It honestly doesn't bother me too much anymore, as I've lived with the pain for so long that it's a normal thing to me now.

On the plus side, my tolerance for pain is extraordinary now. Last year I broke three bones in my hand and didn't know for almost a month when my doctor buddy saw my hand. I just thought I had a pretty bad bruise.

That's pretty badass, I've gotta say. How do you sleep? Maybe I'm just a wimp but even just a headache (from eye strain because I'm a computer addict) sometimes fucks up my sleep and makes me wake up after a couple of hours after going to bed

Same. Would be nice to relive the golden era of Brood War tournaments though.

Carefully. I have to sleep in one of two positions that don't make the pain any worse. It sucks, but it works.

and that I will never wear a seat belt again.

why is that?

The seat belt is what kept me alive, and also what caused me to get stuck in the position long enough to have the console crush my leg. I'd much rather be dead.

in 2007 i was waking up from bad sex with a fat girl to smoke a bowl and pretend to not be asleep in classes that probably would be helping my work right now and laying the foundations for the alcoholism i finally addressed this year

i mostly disliked my social circle and just used it to make sure i had something to do.

life is better now
