Yeah it's really awesome having people question your identity and make jokes about you constantly just because you're a girl on this site. Everyone really has a good time being told how fake they are or how they don't know something because they're a girl and wouldn't understand.

Oh yeah it's also fantastic being hounded to "prove yourself" constantly by people when literally no one else has to go through that bullshit.

I take it you mean that "female" remark?

Yeah, no one knows what we go through. If I wasn't privileged in some areas, I'd never be where I am today. I think about those who had parents that disowned them. Those people living on the streets with no chance at getting a job because hey, lots of places will discriminate pre-everything transgender people.... then what do they have? Forcing their way through puberty without family or friends just because they are transsexual.

That's where the suicidal thoughts come in if they haven't already. In the mind of that person, what do they have to live for? Even if they get a job, affording the surgeries, meds, therapy and on top of that, food and shelter are impossible.

It is essential that parents learn to accept their child or at least let your child be supported in the "you're still my kid" sense..... but many will outright disown them and kick them out.

I've not had that happen, but I can only imagine the trauma that occurs.

Is it wrong that they would want to seek suicide after all that? Knowing you have no one that loves you? No money to be who you are? No money to eat or sleep comfortably? No money to see doctors and remain healthy?

It's a crying shame this world is as it is.

Humans are afraid of things they dont understand, and the easiest way to handle fear is hate.
It doesnt justify what they do, just making it a little easier to understand why they act the way they do.
But disowning your own child, your own blood... that is a level of fear/hate that I cant understand.
Unless they were raised in old school Christianity, but logic tells me that only a small part of disowning families got that kind of background.
Hopefully it will be easier for future generations.

Look, I get that there are hardships that come along with being transgender. I don't think most reasonable people would deny that.

The problem I have, and my reason for quoting the "female" remark, is that the word has a specific definition. They're generally people/animals that have two X chromosomes and produce ova for use in reproduction. If you're born with XY chromosomes and male genitalia, you can never be a female. You can identify as a "girl," "woman," "lady," etc. all you want, but not "female."

You can't just use the word however you want and call people bigots because they won't budge on the scientific definition of that word. Not saying you, specifically, do that, but just in general.

The first few "I'm a girl..." posts were fine on their own, because "girl" is a gender identity thing. However, the topic title says "be a female on CE."

Unless they're born without any female reproductive parts whatsoever, they're still female. Even if the ovaries/uterus/vagina/whatever don't function, they're still there.

That's not what we're talking about here though. It was specifically in reference to users ITT who were born biologically male being misidentified as "female" (or "transfemale").

\\See, I don't use "bigot" since I see it as a stupid word that is unneeded. If we can have a logical talk, I am more open to that than name calling.

Let me put things into my perspective here.

First off, I do acknowledge that my body and a biological woman's body are two different things. That to be male, you produce the seed and to be female, you produce the egg, as far as the human species goes. That, we can agree on, correct?

I will never say that I am biologically female. There's no way I can deny it. I was born with a penis. I was born with a prostate. I was born with what does make biological male bodies.....male.

Now, I myself however, see the issue in a strongly light-hearted way. I say I am a girl. I say I am female. I say I am a woman. By basics of it all, I use "female" no different than I do with "woman", "girl", and "lady"....

I get that the latter are nouns while the former is more of a descriptor, but I simply use it the way I do because it's simpler. I won't lie. Sure, it's ignorant, but I can't help it. I know deep down the difference but on the surface and even the middle grounds, it all sounds the same.

So, yeah. That's where I sit with it.

IMO if people get on you for choosing to refer to yourself as female just because you're trans and not biologically female, it just feels like they're being pedantic.

You know what they meant.

They know what they meant.

Pretty much everyone knows what they meant.

Quibbling over terminology like that is just ridiculous.

In casual conversation around friends, for the most part, it's fine. It gets tricky when people normalize "female" to be on par with the gendered terms.

It's already gotten to the point where posters have to walk on egg shells just to call out inaccurate uses of the term or explain why they would only date females. You risk getting suspended and/or forever labeled as a bigot if you don't defend your post in detail.

Again, it's not specifically you that does this. It's more of an issue I have with the moderators and the "trans white knights."

It's really not. There are political, adminstrative, and social issues that can hinge on the definition being used correctly.

Normalizing sex-specific terms as synonyms for gendered terms is just going to lead to confusion and name calling ("bigot," etc.) during those discussions. It's better to keep the definitions straight rather than handwave it all away out of fear for looking bad.

It's like, I don't care that you just used a male pronoun. Nothing's going to happen. I'm not going to do anything. Calm down.

Trust me. I am not one to side with the mods over a lot of the stuff said on here. I've been modded for anti-trans stuff in the past too but the way I see it, it should be free speech. Even if that is limited on here, I've been modded for stupid shit before. I'm such a casual talker and thinker to the point I don't see anything wrong with my posts and zap, I'm modded because something I said offended someone.

I love the idea of a "live and let live" society, where we can call just be on our own merry ways and if someone wants to do something, let them if they aren't harming themselves. (Controversial, but I believe in assisted suicide if the individual is so set on it and has been approved through study)

I am fully a "freedom" person to my heart. If I want to transition, I should be allowed to without some hick in West Virginia with a shotgun throwing his pitchfork into the air. Just like I believe you have the right to say what you do. I know what you speak of and no matter what we as transgender people say, there are aspects of who we are we will never, ever get to change, and that's fine. All I ask is respect like everyone else.

It's why I hate moderators so much. There's things like gore, nudity and suicidal threats that are there to be taken seriously but if you have a thread where someone accidentally says the 6 letter T word.... no way should that be on the same grounds as the former.... but it is often treated as such.

Alas.

What will happen is people will self-segregate if this gets any worse. What they certainly won't do is rewire their understanding of reality because they are terrified of saying something wrong. That's what a lot of these people who push this narrative don't quite understand about human behavior. Trans people are not helped by forcing this belief on people who are not willing to adopt it. The much more likely outcome is to just disassociate from trans people to avoid any Kafkaesque language policing in general.

Same here. There's a lot about the transgender lifestyle that I'll probably never understand, and some parts that I still frankly disagree with, but that doesn't mean I think people shouldn't be able to engage in it.

That said, your trolling about weed/drugs/alcohol always got me. You can't promote a "live and let live" ideology, then say people should go to jail for weed because you don't like the smell. I know (or really hope) you were always just trolling with that, but it's not a good way to get people to sympathise with your societal struggles.

Agreed. We need to work together. I know too many people who feel victimized but me? I like educating the uneducated. You cannot experience what we do, so I try to lay it out in perspective that others may understand. We can't keep dividing like this. More enemies are made and trans people are seen as "crazy lunatics", which personally, I am far from.

Please, I have a friend who smokes it that I would always go to visit and cycle with. Sure, I hated the Hell out of it, but I never told him to not do it. I let him learn his own lessons. He has been trying to quit cigarettes for example. I never told him to. I was still friends with him. He realized it was bad for him so he has made attempts to stop.

People can smoke. I troll the weed thing as a gimmick. Part in because I hate trump and I know far too many people IRL who are pro-weed, pro-trump. I get off on weed head reactions over the Sessions shit, lol.

I'm glad we see eye to eye. If only more people could.
