Alan Scott (Golden Age, technically not a "Green Lantern" in modern continuity) could not use his powers on wood. Hal Jordan (Silver age to present, minus a stint where he was evil/dead/the Specter) and all the Green Lantern Corp can not use their powers on anything yellow. However, when Hal Jordan came back, they retconned the weakness to be related to a Yellow Fear Space Monster. And now, Green Lanterns are still technically "weak" and "useless" against yellow colored objects. But it's easily overcome by just...not being afraid. Sort of like how Jennifer Connelly beat David Bowie by saying "no u". Anyways that comic referenced in that picture is "All Star Batman and Robin", which is a self-contained continuity where the fear monster stuff didn't happen/didn't happen yet. It's also famous for it's insanely out of character dialogue. (Batman actually calls Robin "retarded" early on and says "I'm the goddamn Batman!")
