The whole plot was confusing as fuck.

That's why Sariff doesn't know about the experimental augs put in Jensen. I think he realizes what's going on but he doesn't straight up tell him. Remember how after Panchea blows up Jensen is missing several months or longer? It's because he was dead. Somebody made clones of him with different tech. You are one of them and don't realize it. You can even find another hidden clone but it's more of an Easter egg and he doesn't comment on it.

It was supposed to be the first part in a new trilogy; this is why they left some plot threads dangling, to weave through future games. It's also why Mankind Divided doesn't deal with another end-of-the-world plot... because they were leaving space for the longer story to escalate.

It's too bad that SE abandoned the project in favor of that easy Disney licensing money. It's gonna be a while before I trust them again on anything episodic.

Even for a middle chapter its incomplete. You can tell the second half of the game is rushed. None of the characters really pay off etc... Its sad because outside of the lack of extra story, what was there was fantastic. The areas were more open than ever, with a multitude of options. Good augs (though glass cloak is hilariously broken), good graphics (thought there are some minor performance issues) everything. I can only hope that it had enough buzz to finish the trilogy (or make another DX game) sometime in the future.

It really wasn't. Mild spoilers included GARM was a throw away mission, nothing really happens there. Miller, MacReady, Chang etc... never really develop/their character arcs don't pay off, Marchenko is just a soldier, the Tavros = Belltower never pays off or builds into a cliffhanger, the whole Dvali subplot doesn't really go anywhere unless you do a very specific set of things to get Otar in charge etc...

Really the end of a Criminal Past was more of what this game needed. That said, it was still a fantastic game and well worth it. Its just a shame it wasn't and won't ever be fully realized.
